The Opposition is continuing its fight for better healthcare and immediate financial support for small and family businesses, during a shadow cabinet visit to the Moreton Region today.
Opposition Leader David Crisafulli says his LNP team will be meeting with industry leaders and small businesses owners from across several suburbs, in Brisbane’s north.
“We are the party of small business,” Mr Crisafulli said.
“Honest Queenslanders who pour their heart and soul into their family businesses feel abandoned by the state government.
“They can’t face another lockdown without support.
“Small businesses are the engine room of our economy and they need all the support they can get.
“Queensland is the only state in the country that doesn’t have a COVID support package for small and family businesses.
The LNP’s suggestions include;
LUMP LOCKDOWN PAYMENTS: payments for small businesses to cover loss of income due to lockdowns
DEEP CLEANING COVER: a rebate covering deep cleaning fees if a business is identified as a COVID-19 exposure venue
EVENT CANCELLATION REBATES: covers financial losses if event is cancelled due to a lockdown.”
Shadow Cabinet is also focusing on the declining state of the health system.
Mr Crisafulli said the state government is failing to deliver vital services Queenslanders rely on.
“Labor is losing control of the health system,” he said.
“Surgery waitlists, ambulance ramping and bed blocking is getting worse.
“The LNP has put genuine solutions on the table including better triaging, introducing real time health data, stronger frontline resources and empowering medical experts over bureaucrats to heal the culture at Queensland Health.”
