Bribie Island needs a COVID testing clinic

Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates Statement

The State Government is failing the people of Bribie Island.

The COVID testing facility has closed.

This means Bribie locals need to travel to Morayfield to get tested.

I’ve seen an appalling effort by the local State MP to try and blame everyone else for this failure except her own State Government.

The local MP should pick up the phone to the Queensland Health Minister demanding a State Government pop-up clinic.

If she won’t do it, I will.

I am calling on the State Government to set up a pop-up testing clinic on Bribie Island right now.

If they can set up pop-up clinics in other parts of Queensland in hours they can do the same for Bribie Island locals.

The State Government does not need approval from the Federal Government to do it, it could be done this week if the State Government wanted to.

Let’s set up a COVID testing clinic on Bribie Island today.
