Shadow Education Minister Dr Christian Rowan
After two years of disruption, parents, students and teachers need to know that COVID-19 safety in Queensland schools is a priority.
Despite the Minister’s announcement, many concerns still exist about the State Government’s plan to ensure a smooth and safe return to school.
This includes the distribution of RAT kits to all schools, teacher workforce gaps as well as classroom ventilation risks.
It’s also critically important to ensure there are sufficient supplies of masks and hand sanitiser in our schools.
The priority remains for students to get vaccinated and for all school staff to have their booster when it’s due.
After waiting so long, Queensland families must be given these assurances.
