Shadow Minister for Child Protection Amanda Camm
The Minister may have visited Cairns but she’s not listening.
There has been no change to practices.
There has been no change to the culture.
If the Minister is going to visit Far North Queensland, she must listen to the local community. She must listen to the people on the ground.
I’ve been speaking to whistleblowers, to carers, ex-carers, ex-workers and advocates. Their stories are consistent.
This State Government is not keeping children safe in Far North Queensland.
I will continue to speak on their behalf until change happens.
They deserve better from this government.
