LNP Calls for Job Security after Power Plant Explosion

I’m calling for a firm commitment that the Callide Power Station will be restored to full capacity and every worker will keep their job.

The Biloela economy heavily relies on the power station employing 260 local workers.

There is no wiggle room – repair work must start immediately.

The State Government needs to stop treating the power station like a cash cow.

Profits should be invested back into maintenance to create safe jobs and a reliable power source for Queensland.

I joined Callide MP Colin Boyce and Gregory MP Lachlan Millar in Biloela today to meet with local business leaders.

It’s clear, locals and people across the state need certainty.

Winter is coming.

The state’s power grid will be tested.
